Enthusiastic To Meet Host Family

18th December 2011

Early in the morning about 7.30am, My roommate and I went to eat breakfast with my other friends. I eat bread with jam and a cup of red orange. I never drink red orange before and it is very sour. So I quickly drink my natural water or should I say mineral water. After we were full, we went to our room and started to pack and put our belongings in the orientation hall. We were separated into 4 groups and my group was group number 1. Our volunteer is Andrea and Alesia. The volunteer took us in the top hotel’s floor and showed us the whole Rome. It was very pretty but I did not have a camera that time, so I did not take a picture. Mi dispiace. Hehe. Then, we started our last orientation in groups. After that, we all gathered and play the energizer for the last time. That time, we were very sad to leave our friends and volunteers because our bonds had deepen. Plus, we were scared and anxious about our own host family. When the volunteers have their meetings, my friends and I took a lot of pictures for our last time and depart from each other.

I don’t know if I lucky or what, because I was in a same flight with my 3 friends called Vanessa, Yam Git and Zameera to Torino. We have an emergency that time because the place where our gate was changed and we didn’t know. Thanks to Zameera, she was anxious about our gates because no one was there and there are no people in the counter. So, Vanessa accompany her to the list of flight and they found out that the gate to Torino changed into 21. So, we walked a long journey to find the gate. After we found the gate, the gate was fulled with people so we seated at the next gate (22). Soon after, our flight is ready to go. So we went into the bus to our aeroplane. We saw a lot of Italian people speaking Italian Language. So Zameera started to talk Malay then follow by us, we were smirking and talk out loud. We also talked behind their back using Malay. It was so funny, they just looking at us with a big question mark on their expression. At the aeroplane, I seat in between Yam Git and Zameera while Vanessa seat near two Italian people who can’t speak English.

Yam Git offer to change place with Vanessa but Vanessa refuse because she wants to practice speak Italian Language to the Italian people. Then, I slept the whole journey to Torino so I can’t remember a thing. When I woke up, It was already in Torino. We was lost in the middle of the way because we went to the toilet. Thanks to the cleaner, we found our way to the luggage were. Soon after we leave the airport , I heard some people who was lifting a Malaysian flag and called my friends name (Zameera). I also found my host parents and they gave me a bouquet of flower. It is nice!

MI FAMILIA (another host sister, but she is in German right now)

We take 2 hours from Torino to Cassine. In the middle of the way, they asked me a lot of question and my host family taught me words when I was lost. It was fun. Soon after I arrived, I saw 2 kids coming and greet me. They introduce themselves.

Me, Amal and Saussan
(they will be not around about 1 month, they visited thier family the day after and will be back around 13 January 2012)

And they draw me a warm welcome greetings. So I realize that they are my neighbour. After that, My mom Pinuccia showed me the rules of their house and I chat with my host sister, Esther, at Skype. Then I slept after that because I need to go to my school next morning.

I was touched! Aww......
